When Mandi and Max made the decision to celebrate their wedding in beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, they envisioned a weekend filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. Coming from Louisville, Kentucky, this fun-loving couple brought charm, style, and lots of energy to their special day—and the result was nothing short of magical.
A Warm Welcome & Rehearsal at Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar

The festivities kicked off the night before with an intimate rehearsal dinner at Alexander’s Restaurant & Wine Bar. Nestled in the heart of Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, the couple hosted 27 close friends and family in the waterfront main back room. With delicious coastal cuisine and heartfelt toasts, the evening set the tone for the joyful celebration to come.
The Big Day: Coastal Romance with Southern Charm
The morning of the wedding was filled with anticipation and excitement. Mandi got ready with her family, surrounded by laughter, champagne, and meaningful details. Meanwhile, Max spent the morning with his groomsmen, sharing stories and suiting up in classic coastal style.
Before the ceremony, the couple shared a private first look among the island’s trees and shaded paths. It was an emotional and tender moment, giving them a chance to pause and connect before the festivities began. The joy on their faces said it all—this was the beginning of something truly special.
Mandi and Max exchanged vows on the sand with the ocean as their backdrop—a dreamy coastal setting with vibrant, Southern-inspired flair. Guests were welcomed with a light breeze, sea views, and joyful anticipation.
The ceremony took place beneath a wooden arch draped with soft white fabric and adorned with lush greenery and a striking floral spray. Pops of coral, white, peach, and pink in the bouquets created a vibrant contrast against the blue sky and shoreline. The bride’s stepfather officiated the ceremony, making the moment even more personal and meaningful.
A Celebration of Color: Bouquets & Florals

The floral design by Gardenias brought the perfect blend of elegance and color. Mandi’s bouquet featured soft pink peonies, lisianthus, bright coral ranunculus, blue delphinium, delicate astilbe, and trailing greenery. A sentimental detail—her bouquet was wrapped with a white handkerchief trimmed in blue lace and adorned with a gold photo locket—made it all the more special.
The bridesmaids carried similar garden-style bouquets, full of texture and vibrant blooms that popped beautifully against their blue dresses. The color palette throughout the day balanced natural coastal tones with bright floral accents, creating a joyful and striking look that felt both summery and refined.
Reception at the Veranda at Arthur Hills
After the ceremony, the Island Buggy transferred guests to continue the celebration at the Veranda at the Arthur Hills Golf Course, where guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour overlooking the lush, sunlit greens. As the evening progressed, the reception moved indoors to the Veranda for dinner and dancing. The atmosphere was intimate and warm, designed to celebrate with those closest to the couple.
Each reception table was named after a South Carolina beach, tying in the coastal theme. One especially meaningful detail was a table dedicated to photos of friends and family who were there in spirit. The blend of thoughtful design, sentimental moments, and heartfelt celebration made the night truly unforgettable.
Music played a huge part in the celebration, and the dance floor did not disappoint. DJ Alec Leonardo, a longtime friend of the groom, traveled from South Florida to provide the soundtrack for the evening. His personalized set kept guests on their feet all night long, creating an unforgettable party atmosphere. (You can reach Alec at alecleonardo@gmail.com).

The cake, a classic and delicious creation from Publix, was the perfect sweet note to top off the meal.
